Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana
Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana a scheme to augment fish productivity at a sustained average growth is flagged off.
The scheme is planned at a total estimated investment of ₹20,050 Crore of which the shares are as follows.
- Central Share – ₹9407 Crore
- State Share – ₹4880 Crore
- Beneficiaries Share – ₹5763 Crore
This Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana is to be implemented during a period of 5 years from FY 2020-21.
The Scheme aims to augment fish productivity at a sustained average annual growth rate of 9% to achieve target of 22 MMT.
It is aimed to create critical infrastructure including modernisation and strengthening of value chain.
This scheme will generate a direct employment to about 15 laks fishers, fish farmers, fish vendors, etc.
The scheme planned on the guidelines of doubling of fishers, fish farmers and fish workers incomes by 2024.
The project is planned to be implemented under Central Sector Scheme(CS) and centrally sponsored scheme (CSS), the latter having beneficiary and non-beneficiary oriented subcomponents.

Funding Pattern under CS:
The project when implemented as a Centrla Sector Scheme i.e., CS, the entire project cost to be borne by central government.
For direct beneficiary oriented activities in CS, assistance on project cost upto 40% for general and 60% for SC/ST/women is approved.
Funding pattern under CSS:
Project cost for both Beneficiary and Non-beneficiary oriented sub-components to be shared between Center and States which are as follows:
- North Eastern & Himalayan States: 90:10 Central and States
- Other States: 60:40 Central and States
- UTs: 100 Central Share
For Beneficiary oriented subcomponents, government to provide financial assistance on project cost upto 40% for general and 60% for SC/ST/Women
